I am single, but am looking for a relationship with another man, a am also a member of a small Roman Catholic parish in my hometown. Some people know that I am/might be ***. I don't want to cause an awkward situation for myself, the people, or the priest. The priest knows I am gay, but can't help me because he isn't. I also want to start dating other men, and don't know if I should take my "Special Friend" to Mass. Should I come out to some people or find another denomination/church where I am accepted? If there are other *** catholics who have left the church or stayed in the church please give me some advice.

I was raised Baptist and converted to the Catholic Church a couple of years ago, I don't believe in most Catholic teachings such as confession, mortal/venial sin, being in a state of grace. Did I make a huge mistake and how can I fix it?

The reason I don't believe in confession, or the other things I don't believe is because I grew up Baptist and those beliefs are foriegn to me, although I am trying to understand them but it is hard to believe in something you were never taught.
