I dated this guy almost 7 years ago. We recently reconnected and he invited me out to visit him for a weekend. I am single and he is single. Nothing happened, all G-rated stuff, but it was nice to reconnect with him and be able to talk and catch up.
Since I visited, we text throughout the week and usually talk on the phone once or twice a week. He travels alot, and asks me to send him pictures as a "welcome home" gesture or surprise when he lands. Again, all G-rated stuff. He's said things like "I could never get tired of seeing pics of you."
He's texted me song lyrics like "Good night sweetheart, well it's time to go..." (the entire chorus) along with "How can I forget this girl, when there's always something there to remind me, always something there to remind me. I must have been born to love this girl."....
I mentioned I had a date one night, and he responds with "Someone trying to move in on me?" and when I told him that I didn't want to go on this date because I don't really know "how" to date, he responded with "I don't know how to date either so we can just skip that part".
He lives in North Carolina... I live in Illinois. His family is from here and I will be seeing him over Christmas when he is home for the holidays.
Am I reading more into this than I should be? I think there could definitely be a rekindling of sorts going on but I don't know what to think because of the distance.
I will say- that if we were in the same town or even the same state, this would be a definite.
I'm so confused as to what he's thinking.
